About Us

Three strangers met while individually providing humanitarian services in Ghana, and together, identified a need in the community after volunteering abroad. These strangers created partnerships with local people and schools and further explored the need in the schools and with individual students. Today, these three strangers are now 3 founders, from South Carolina, Florida, and Ghana, who have developed a friendship and through relationship and connection identified a need to support and work towards a mission of developing a deep rooted system to enhance education and development in our world through literacy and opportunities.
Today, our world struggles with many things from politics, violence, crime, poverty, and more. One of those struggles include education.
The importance of education in the children of this and future generations worldwide should be known because the children may be able to make an impact that can influence their communities and communities abroad.

Rising Roots Foundation

According to Pencils of Promise (2017), “48% of age  appropriate children are enrolled in secondary school in Ghana, 33% of the Ghanaian population is illiterate, and 28% of primary school children will drop out before completing primary school.”

With our newly founded organization, Rising Roots Foundation (RRF), we believe out roots is our education system, and we grow from the opportunity given through our education and opportunities.

Therefore, we founded RRF with the focus of increasing education and opportunities to the youth in Ghana, Africa. RRF is a public benefit organization that uses volunteer humanitarian action to empower local communities, foster cultural sensitivity and understanding, and contribute grass-root solutions to the global challenges of providing education and social development.
